The American Association of Endocrine Surgeons invites you to attend the 41st Annual Meeting of the AAES. The Meeting will take place from Sunday, April 25 through Tuesday, April 27, 2021.  Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the AAES Executive Council and Program Committee have made the difficult decision to hold this meeting virtually.  Since COVID will certainly prevent some people from traveling to Birmingham, we are planning for a virtual AAES meeting.  However, for those who can travel, we may have some organized in-person events in Birmingham associated with the AAES meeting.

All meeting content will be either pre-recorded or live-streamed during an online time period that mirrors the footprint of our normal in-person meetings.

While we are disappointed that this will mark the second year running in which we cannot all gather for what is guaranteed to be a great time, the program committee is very excited to put on a top-notch scientific program.  We will also strive to create time and opportunity for socializing over the ethersphere with friends and colleagues from near and far.

As always, the meeting will feature our traditional scientific sessions for oral and poster presentations as well as the Presidential Invited Lecture and the Orlo and Carol Clark Distinguished Lecture in Endocrine Surgery.  The crowd favorite Interesting Case Presentations will be back, and we will also be introducing a new quick shot session to allow more presenters to the podium.  In addition, this year, leaders in our society will host symposia on Ethics in Surgery, as well as Diversity and Inclusion.

As the scientific sessions wind down each day, we will plan to have a virtual Happy Hour, where members can participate in both group and private chat sessions.  We are working on making it as simple as possible to reach out to fellow meeting participants and have real-time discussions, just as it would occur if we were all in Birmingham.

We look forward to seeing all of you online.  We expect this to be an engaging meeting with excellent scientific content, and just as importantly, the chance to see friends we have not seen for two years.
